The founder
Born in Toxteth. Built from scratch. The story behind radrr is one of vision, grit, and a lifelong obsession with how people connect.
Her story
Keely O'Hara is the founder of radrr — but the story behind it didn't begin in tech. It began in Toxteth, Liverpool, with a working-class girl who always felt she had something to prove.
From the moment she could, she was chasing. Her first business opened in 1995. By the time most people had figured out what the internet was, Keely had already built, grown, and sold a small chain of salons — and won Young Entrepreneur of the Year along the way.
That instinct for timing and culture showed up more than once. She stepped into media early, appearing on TV and running her own YouTube show before most people took the platform seriously — another sign that she saw shifts coming before they were obvious to everyone else.
The idea for radrr had lived in her mind for years. When the technology finally existed to build it, she wasn't waiting for permission. She got to work.
“You can be sitting in a café and notice someone you'd genuinely like to connect with — but because they're a stranger, you do nothing. That potential connection is simply lost. radrr changes that.”— Keely O'Hara, Founder of radrr
The journey
Born in her mum and dad's bed on Devonport Street, Liverpool. From the start — determined, competitive, and driven to make something of herself.
Opened her own commercial sunbed salon in Liverpool — long before businesses like it were everywhere. A bold move that paid off, and the first sign of a real instinct for spotting what was coming next.
Won Young Entrepreneur of the Year, built a small chain of salons, and eventually sold the business. Stepped into media early too — appearing on TV and launching her own YouTube show before most people were taking the platform seriously.
An old idea — one she'd carried for years — finally came back with total clarity. What if you could open an app and instantly discover people around you who matched your interests? Not followers. Not usernames. Real people. In the real world.
Built from scratch with a developer she found through sheer determination, radrr is now live on iOS and Android — and growing every day.
The vision
Keely had watched technology make it possible to reach anyone, anywhere in the world — yet somehow it had become harder to connect with the person sitting two tables away. That felt like a problem worth solving.
She spent years thinking about it, and when she finally went looking for something that did what she had in mind, she couldn't find it. Nobody had built it. So she did. radrr isn't the result of a trend or a market report — it's the result of a founder who lived the problem and refused to wait for someone else to solve it.
